Well it's only day one of the X Factor 2009 Auditions but already Danyl Johnson has become the hot favourite to win the X Factor! The last audition of the night was from the very soulful Danyl Johnson, a 27 year-old teacher from Reading, England. He absolutely stole the show with his energetic rendition of the Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends”. He really got the crowd going and seemed to have a great stage presence. Simon Cowell declared it the “best first audition I’ve ever heard.”
Since his audition was played on ITV1 on Saturday night the tabloids have been going absolutely mad for Danyl Johnson. Everyone want's to know Danyl's back story and where this awesome talent has come from. They've been pointing out he’s already headlined three bands and won a national karaoke competition. Not forgetting he has several family heartaches which the X Factor producers love. He's also come out as being bisexual and claims to fancy all of the judges including Simon Cowell! He's currently the favourite to win the whole competition by the bookies and they're rarely wrong! I have to say it's a bit early to be picking winners after one episode!
Danyl Johnson's rendition of the song was more like Joe Cockers version rather than the Beatles. It's estimated an audience of about 10 million watched Danyl Johnson on day one of the X Factor 2009 auditions so who knows what kind of audience figures he'll get it he makes it to the X Factor 2009 final! He absolutely wowed judges and 2,000 fans at the London auditions with a rocky version of The Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends. Even Louis Walsh was singing his praises! Cheryl Cole declared that she would take him in her category any day!
Danyl Johnson is a teacher from Reading and will be interesting to find out if he's planning to go back to school for the new term. He has been quoted as saying that he has prepared his timetables for the new year but it depends how his career takes off on the back of his X Factor 2009 Audition. There has been a lot of coverage in America of Danyl's audition on the back of Susan Boyle's popularity from Britains got talent. 'Subo' was a big hit in America and so the press there is looking out for the next big thing from the UK. Danyl might just provide that star quality that the Americans are looking for.
